9th January 2011

Wishing everybody a peaceful and joyful 2011. We have been busy over the Christmas period. We played a few shows in Plumtree town and also in the rural areas closer to home. We have recorded a demo CD and are now seeking shows further afield and hoping we'll get our album ready by the middle of the year for distribution. It the meantime, we'll soon be putting some music online.

13th November 2010

Playing another local community gig at Matjinge High School. The next 2 or 3 weeks will be dedicated to practising, in preparation for recording our debut album in December!

11th November 2010

An a capella gig for us: supporting Ngwana Primary School on their fundraising day.

6th October 2010

Alas, the Chibuku Road to Fame was not meant to be! We went to Harare and played our 15 minute set, alongside 9 other bands. We did not play our best and did not come away with a prize, but the experience was so valuable. We met some great people and with whom we hope to collaborate in the future.

16th September 2010

Busy busy practising for our Harare gig. Many thanks to Ostin for his top tips on the bass.

6th August 2010

Tanga Pasi have been filling in the hundreds of potholes on the stretch of the road between home and school, which is so bad that we seem to get a broken spring nearly every week.

28th July 2010

During our trip to South Africa, we managed to find a great drum and an exciting new instument for the band, purchased with our prize money from Gwanda- a great feeling!

The gig at Thekwane was cancelled, but we picked up another one at Phakamani School in Plumtree on 24th July, which contributed to a fundraising event for the school.

Simon came across for a week on intense practicing and the country brothers tasted broccolli for the first time.

11th July 2010

After days of intense practising, we travelled to Gwanda on 3rd July for the Chibuku 'Road to Fame' competition.... and won!!! Pamela and Sinini are now in South Africa searching for much-needed instruments and equipment, so that we can start preparing for the national competition in Harare. The date is yet to be announced, but we expect to head there in September to play 15 minutes of our finest tunes and take first prize!

We also have a gig on 16th July at Tekwane High School and are hoping to line up a few more to help us prepare for the big show in Harare.

30th June 2010

Simon has been over from Masvingo for the past three weeks so we are busy practising together in the countryside for upcoming gigs, including one at Thekwani School, Plumtree, on July 16th. We have also been invited to represent the district at a battle of the bands competition on July 3rd in Gwanda.
